Please expand on your previous leadership experience

I am actively involved in the management of our family-owned brokerage. I assist in hiring, training, and assisting agents within our office. In my community, I volunteer on a few committees, coach youth sports, and currently serve as Homeowner’s Association President in the 221-home community I live in.

What role do you hope to play on the Board?

I want to actively serve both property owners in our area and fellow REALTORS®. From a property owner standpoint, I know that our local board can be their loudest voice when it comes to retaining and fighting for their rights. From a fellow REALTOR® standpoint, I want to ensure that we maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity; while also assisting in any issues we are facing as a whole.

What Association benefits and/or offerings have provided you the most value in your business?

If it wasn’t for the local association, I would be much less in tune with what is happening in various counties and municipalities we cover. I also greatly appreciate the ability to take continuing education classes, seminars, and previously my broker’s classes locally and by great instructors.

What industry trends do you feel will affect our association in the upcoming years?

There is a growing divide between Buyers/Sellers and REALTORS® to the point where too many do not see the need for us or the value in what we do and the services we provide. I think we need to find ways to utilize some of the newer technology in our business to create more value and offer a better, easier experience for clients. I also believe there will be repurposing of commercial spaces due to workers transitioning to permanently working from home post-Covid, which will lead to us working with municipalities on possible zoning changes and other issues.

What do you think should be the priority issues being addressed by the Association today?

Regardless of the market or industry trends, I think the priority for the local association should be education and training – which ours has always done a great job of. Keep fellow REALTORS® in the loop with what is going on, offer classes so we can better ourselves, train us on prevalent issues we are facing. To tack on to one of my previous answers – we can shrink the divide between us and consumers by being better which comes through education and training.

Why are you interested in serving on the Board of Directors?

I’m proud to be a second generation REALTOR® and hope that my sons follow in my footsteps as well. I want to do my part in making sure that being a REALTOR® in the future is just as great as it is today.
