What role do you hope to play on the Board?
I hope to continue to promote the voice of the Independent Brokerages. I can’t stress enough that TCSR’s many member benefits are crucial to independent brokerage success. I also feel I represent a unique region of our foot print being on the edge of Philadelphia. I hope to continue to provide suggestions, thought-provoking dialogue, and a unique perspective as a second generation Broker.
What Association benefits and/or offerings have provided you the most value in your business?
Being from a small Brokerage, we daily use our Member Benefits in our office. Benefits would otherwise be cost prohibitive for me to provide my agents. ZipForms, Docusign, Forewarn, Tech Helpline, PAR Legal Hotline and Education opportunities through the School are my top most taken advantage 2 of benefits. In addition, being a part of the leadership allows for professional development & increases my knowledge base to be a better leader and educated REALTOR® for my clients.
What industry trends do you feel will affect our association in the upcoming years?
I have concern with Zillow, Amazon, and Homes.com and what their end goals are and impacts to the industry. I worry that alternative representation structures may dilute the full representation that Buyers & Sellers currently benefit from. I continue to monitor the DOL and their perspective of the Independent Contractor vs Employee status.
What do you think should be the priority issues being addressed by the Association today?
Providing guidance of what the new Clear Communication Policy will be between cooperating Brokers with respect to compensation. Providing Guidance to Brokerages on how to amend their Broker Policies to be in compliance with new Federal Law. A model policy with some effective language to implement would be helpful. Continuing to grow the Education and Professionalism of membership. I for one would like to see the Degree of Distinction brought back or ” You got your license, now what” course provided. Not all brokerages are able to provide the in house training and regular programming of the larger
franchises. To continue to grow future leadership and also consider retaining valuable members of leadership for their institutional knowledge.
Why are you interested in serving on the Board of Directors?
We all have families. We all have our jobs. If we choose to take time away from either of them, it’s because the thing we are volunteering for means something, something we deeply believe in.
I am driven by a deep passion for the real estate industry and a profound sense of responsibility towards it. I firmly believe in the value it brings to our communities and our economy. When I commit to volunteering, I do so wholeheartedly, recognizing the significance of the role and the impact it can have.
Leadership is not just a role to me; it’s a calling ingrained in my character. I believe in leading with authenticity and speaking from the heart, knowing that our members look to their leaders for vision and integrity. I am committed to serving our membership, safeguarding our industry’s interests, and
fostering its growth. I aspire to contribute to the board by leveraging my experience and dedication, continuing to evolve both professionally and as a leader. My goal is to ensure that our industry thrives, supported by effective governance and unwavering advocacy.
