Diversity, Equity AND Inclusion Matters:

A Call to Action

To raise awareness of Diversity, Fair Housing and Inclusion in real estate, Tri-County Suburban Members can engage in a Diversity Equity and Inclusion Matters Call to Action. Members can earn bronze, silver, gold, diamond and platinum certificates for completing a series of activities in diversity, fair housing and inclusion. 

Objective: For members of Tri-County Suburban REALTORS® to demonstrate their understanding that diversity, equity, and inclusion matters.

Eligibility: Active REALTOR® and Affiliate members of Tri-County Suburban REALTORS®.

Recognition: Achievement will be recognized with digital badges and communicated in all possible TCSR outlets upon completion of each level.

How to answer the call to action:

BRONZE LEVEL: Answer the call to bronze level by completing the National Association of REALTORS® fair housing simulation Fairhaven: A Fair Housing Simulation.

About Fairhaven: Inspired by real stories, this innovative online experience has agents work against the clock to sell homes in the fictional town of Fairhaven, while confronting discrimination in the homebuying process.

SILVER LEVEL: Answer the call to silver level by completing bronze level AND the National Association of REALTORS® training Bias Override: Overcoming Barriers to Fair Housing

About Bias Override: Overcoming Barriers to Fair Housing: NAR contracted the mind science experts at the Perception Institute to develop an online workshop to help members avoid implicit bias in their daily business interactions.

GOLD LEVEL: Answer the call to gold level by completing bronze level, silver level AND At Home With Diversity® (AHWD) Certification Course  (Online or in person)

About At Home with Diversity: REALTORS® know the importance of adapting and remaining relevant in today’s marketplace. By developing a business practice rooted in inclusion and equality, REALTORS® can help buyers of all cultural backgrounds achieve the dream of homeownership. The At Home with Diversity® (AHWD) certification course covers how to work effectively with diverse populations so that you can build business success in today’s multicultural real estate market.

If a member of Tri-County Suburban REALTORS® has completed any of the levels prior to the start date of the call to action (April 4, 2023) simply certify your completion of each step as described above.

Members may complete the levels in any order however, recognition of each level is predicated on completion of the prior levels.

DIAMOND LEVEL: Answer the call to Diamond Level by completing bronze level, silver level, and gold levels as described above and formulating a written business plan that incorporates At Home with Diversity /One America principals. PLATINUM LEVEL: Answer the call to Platinum Level by completing bronze level, silver level, gold and diamond levels as described above and REALTOR® L.E.A.D. – Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Course

About REALTOR® L.E.A.D. – Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Course: This course provides REALTOR® with a better understanding of the concepts of diversity, equity, and inclusion as well as an introduction to some of the social psychology that makes it either easier or harder to live out DEI. This course ties many concepts together, all of which are designed to help you better understand how to be a great leader at your association, your office, and in your community.
