Pennsylvania Real Estate License Renewal Credits
All Pennsylvania real estate licensees (salesperson, associate broker, broker) must renew their license every two years. The current renewal period began June 1, 2024, and ends May 31st, 2026. The Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission requires all real estate licensees (including brokers and associate brokers) to complete 14 hours of education each renewal period.
For most licensees, there is a requirement for 14 hours. It is anticipated that a portion of those hours will be in a required topic dictated by the Real Estate Commission. This space will be updated when that information is available.
Exceptions to the above requirement are listed below:
- *Notice for Recent Licensees* The Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission has developed 14 required hours of mandatory continuing education course content for all licensees in their first renewal cycle. This provision affects anyone licensed on or after December 1, 2023. The mandatory course must be completed by May 31, 2026. The Association of REALTORS® School offers this required course in the classroom and online. This is the only license renewal education requirement for licensees in their first renewal.
- *New or reactivated Pennsylvania Licensees* – INITIAL RENEWAL PERIOD ONLY – If the first license is issued in the last six months of the 24-26 renewal period (December 1, 2025 – May 31, 2026), the licensee does NOT have to complete continuing education. However, the licensee must complete the renewal application and pay the appropriate fees to the Real Estate Commission.
