Madeline O’Fria, SRES
Long and Foster Real Estate, Havertown
11 Years Active in Real Estate
What was your career prior to real estate, if applicable?
Upon graduation from St. Joseph’s University in 1983, I worked for a pharmaceutical company in sales for 8.5 years; then I stayed at home to raise three children for 12 years. I started working in real estate in 2004.
What type of leadership roles have you held outside of real estate?
I have been very active and held positions on various boards and committees within Haverford township, most recently the committee to advise the township about the Haverford Reserve site.
As a voice for your colleagues, what strengths/insights will you bring to the Board discussions?
As a real estate professional, I would like to see the Board do some more long-range planning. I am very passionate about what we do.
What issues do you feel the Association should be addressing?
The Association should be addressing the training of new agents and agents that are only involved in 4 or fewer transactions per year. As our industry is constantly changing, those agents need more education.
Why are you interested in serving as a member of the Board of Directors?
Our Board does an excellent job with keeping us up-to-date on what is going on in our industry; I would like to give back and help out, now that I have more time.
