29 Years Active in Real Estate
What was your career prior to real estate, if applicable?
After graduating from the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in economics, I worked briefly in restaurant management. In my 20s, I held sales positions at Sprint during the AT&T divestiture and American Sterilizer Company before starting my real estate career in 1987.
What type of leadership roles have you held outside of real estate?
I have been a member of the HOA Board of Directors for Hillingham. I’ve also been part of a variety of advisory committees at my company.
As a voice for your colleagues, what strengths/insights will you bring to the Board discussions?
I’m a clear thinker with 29 years of experience as a top producing REALTOR®. Having experienced every kind of market, I understand the importance of a board that encourages professionalism, cooperation and education to elevate the quality of our industry and the success of the membership. During my tenure on the SWRA Board of Directors over 4 of the past 5 years, I believe the busy, productive agent needs a voice and advocate at the board, and I am eager to continue in this role.
What issues do you feel the Association should be addressing?
The association should continue to offer quality education, foster professionalism, and should focus on encouraging a sense of community among the members.
Why are you interested in serving as a member of the Board of Directors?
I feel I offer the perspective of a successful agent and team leader who looks to SWRA to provide resources and advocacy. As a member of the SWRA Board of Directors, I will work to represent the interests of busy REALTOR® members. If elected, my many years of experience in the business, as well as my past experience as a SWRA board member will enable me to provide service and leadership for our membership.
