About the Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) Designation
The Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®) designation is for REALTORS® who want to be able to meet the special needs of maturing clients when selling, buying, relocating, or refinancing residential or investment properties. By earning the SRES® designation, REALTORS® are prepared to approach mature clients with the best options and information for them to make life-changing decisions. (Designation is via The Center for REALTOR Development).
The first year of SRES® renewals is included with the SRES® Designation Course. To maintain your SRES® designation, you must keep an active membership with the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). Annual designation renewals are $99 each year thereafter. (NAR)
About the Course
The Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®) designation is for real estate professionals who have a passion for working with clients over age 50 and want to take their service to the next level. The largest and wealthiest buyer’s group in the country is made up of Baby Boomers. And many live right here in Pennsylvania, which has the fifth largest senior population in the U.S.
In this 2-day course, you will learn how to confidently guide homebuyers and sellers over the age of 50 through their next major financial and lifestyle transition, understand the various housing options tailored to seniors, including active adult communities, retirement homes, assisted living facilities, and aging in place solutions, gain insights into the major life events and transitions—such as retirement, health changes, and family dynamics that motivate these clients, learn the various ways senior clients may approach funding a real estate purchase, such as reverse mortgages, pensions, 401(k) plans, and IRAs, and more.
