NAR Code of Ethics Required Training
Deadline: December 31, 2027
Requirements
The National Association of REALTORS® requires all REALTOR® members to complete periodic ethics training of not less than two (2) hours and thirty (30) minutes of instructional time. The current three year cycle began January 1, 2025, and ends December 31, 2027.
A REALTOR® completing the new member Code of Ethics orientation during any three year cycle shall not be required to complete additional ethics training in respect of this requirement until a new three year cycle commences.
Failure to complete the required periodic ethics training shall be considered a violation of a membership duty.
Failure to meet the requirement will result in suspension of membership for the first two months (January and February) of the year following the end of any three (3) year cycle or until the requirement is met, whichever occurs sooner. On March 1 of that year, the membership of a member who is still suspended as of that date will be automatically terminated.
To Complete the Requirement
REALTOR® members may choose from the following course options:
- Complete the course: Ethics in Real Estate in-person or virtually through The Association of REALTORS® School. ($45.00)
- Provides 3 Hrs of PA credit for 2024-2026 PA real estate license renewal.

- Complete the course: Using The Code to Solve Ethical Dilemmas self-paced, virtually through LEAP Online. ($34.00)
- Provides 3 Hrs of PA credit for 2024-2026 PA real estate license renewal.
- Complete the course: Code of Ethics for Existing Members (Cycle 8) self-paced, virtually through Center for REALTOR® Development. (FREE)
- Does NOT provide continuing education credit.
- REALTORS® who achieve or renew the NAR C2EX (Commitment to Excellence) endorsement during the renewal cycle are exempt from completing the training.
