Please expand on your previous leadership experience.
I began my career as a REALTOR® with the Chester County Association of REALTORS® (CCAR) where I got involved as a panel chairman for Professional Standards. I served as President of CCAR in 2000 and Treasure in 2001. I was on the Board of Directors for several years. In 2003 I was one of the members of the merger task force which merged CCAR with Delaware Valley REALTORS® Association to become Suburban West REALTORS® Association. After the merger, I took a break from leadership roles and kept active with Professional Standards, a personal passion for me. I was also on the task force that recommended to the Board to require ethics training for all members of Suburban West, very cutting edge and ahead of NAR. I then took a step back into leadership running for a Board Seat and became a Director with Suburban West in 2010. I served as Chairman of the Board in 2012 and served as a Director until 2015 when I was term limited. Currently, I serve as a PAR Director.
What role do you hope to play on the Board?
I am excited for the possibility to be on the Board of this Organization. I would hope that my past experience would be helpful in bringing “something to the table” I am not an out spoken person, but I speak out when I feel it is warranted or can be of value. As a leader, I strived to achieve consensus with my Directors. I would be an active participant with an open mind centered on the fact that I am here to serve as a Director for Tri County. I would not be on the Board to see what’s best for the company I am affiliated with, Tri County focused at all times.
What Association benefits and/or offerings have provided you the most value in your business?
Professional Standards, Association of REALTORS® School, DocuSign, ZipForms, Tech Help Line, Suburban REALTORS® Alliance website, Market Statistics, Weekly Email, Electronic Lock Box, etc These benefits are priceless and the price per year has not changed in many, many years!!!
What industry trends do you feel will affect our association in the upcoming years?
Keeping the REALTOR® CENTRAL TO THE TRANSACTION is of utmost importance I tell clients, I am still relevant because Zillow can’t see through your roof for example. As long as we bring value, we will protect the way we make our living. I would consider this to be of utmost importance.
What do you think should be the priority issues being addressed by the Association today?
Education
Professionalism
Keeping this Organization Cutting Edge
Why are you interested in serving on the Board of Directors?
I like to be involved and hope that I can be an active participant with something to offer for the good of the Organization.
