Ally Spotlight⭐
Maternal and Child Health Consortium
MCHC is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to assisting low-income families in Chester and Montgomery counties. Established in 1991, MCHC’s mission is to ensure that caregivers and their young children have equitable access to high-quality, culturally sensitive healthcare and prenatal support.
In 1995, MCHC introduced prenatal case management services for low-income expectant and parenting individuals, along with their infants. By 1997, with the backing of the federal Healthy Start program, MCHC became one of the 100 Healthy Start programs across the nation. The Family Benefits Program was introduced to streamline the enrollment of uninsured families in state-subsidized health insurance. In 2010, it expanded to include SNAP and other public benefit programs. In 2006, MCHC launched the Family Center Program to address the school readiness gap among low-income families with children in southern Chester County.
Today, MCHC serves over 5,000 individuals each year, offering bilingual home-visiting services for prenatal and postpartum women, assistance with health insurance and food benefits enrollment for families and individuals, and early childhood education programs. These initiatives play a pivotal role in promoting healthier and more resilient communities. To learn more about MCHC, visit our website at ccmchc.org.
